CREATING THE POSSIBILITY: EDUCATION

CREATING THE POSSIBILITY: EDUCATION

Beside a thick, bushy region stood a rusty, iron sheet house- Domino church where this young, potential students have to walk for approximately 10 miles in order to acquire broad and critical knowledge, education. Since it is the key eradicator of poverty.

We are sited in a classroom. Unbelievable! In the early morning, the cold breeze not only freezes the students as they strife to concentrate but also causes flue and common cold. In the sunny afternoon, the scotching sun becomes unbearable: irritating the skins and causing dehydration as they contend for small shade provided by this huge tree. Only a few resilient student get to survive while a majority tend to skip classes or hardly attend school. Heavy downpour dismisses students from ‘school’ yet at the end of the year, the National exam gauges them with other prestigious schools anticipating splendid performance. Is this human. Where is humanity?

On radiant faces lies flashy smiles, depicting a glowing future that beholds them despite the many difficulties they face. Some students lean towards my fragrance: a fragrance of hope for a better future. To some, the curly hair on my head is a goal they have set as a motivation for excellent performance since their parents cannot afford it.

Being a role model to youngsters is exceptional. Having grown up in the same background makes me renewed day by day to testify “todays’ circumstances does not unveil what tomorrow holds.“ Thus we can actualize this if we unite. Therefore,be a helper by buying a bracelet or more today, at 3 dollars and make it POSSIBLE for this students to access better learning facilities and environment to equip their brains for change. Since the only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change.
